Job Hai and WorkIndia: the right way to use entry-level job apps in India

Job Hai and WorkIndia are built for blue-collar and grey-collar hiring in India. They work differently from Naukri. Here is what actually gets you hired on both.

Job Hai and WorkIndia are not Naukri with a simpler interface. They are built from the ground up for a different kind of hiring: field sales, delivery, retail, security, housekeeping, telecalling, and entry-level ops roles. The resume upload, the ATS scoring, the keyword matching. None of that exists here.

What matters instead: location, availability, verified identity, and how fast you respond.

These apps are for field and entry-level roles only. For white-collar portals, read best job portals in India. If you also apply on Naukri or Indeed, keep a text-based resume ready and check ATS parsing on that file.

Job Hai: Naukri's blue-collar app

Job Hai is built and run by Info Edge, the same company that owns Naukri. It was designed explicitly for non-IT, entry-level, and field roles in India, the segment that Naukri was never built for.

The platform is Hindi and vernacular-first. The UI works on low-bandwidth connections. There is no resume upload. Your profile is built through guided forms on the app. This is not a limitation; it is a design choice that makes the platform accessible to candidates who have never written a formal resume.

What Job Hai covers

Roles on Job Hai cluster into a few categories:

  • Delivery and logistics (last-mile, warehouse, dispatching)
  • Retail and sales (store associate, counter staff, field sales)
  • Hospitality and housekeeping
  • Security and facility management
  • Telecalling and customer support (entry-level BPO)
  • Driver roles (two-wheeler and four-wheeler)

If your target role is in this list, Job Hai is a primary channel. If it is not, the platform has nothing for you.

How matching works on Job Hai

Job Hai's algorithm is hyperlocal. The primary matching signal is distance between the candidate's registered location and the employer. A recruiter hiring for a warehouse in Andheri East will see candidates within 10-15 km first, not the most experienced candidates in Mumbai.

This means getting your location right is more important than anything else on the profile.

Important

Set your location to the specific area you are willing to work from, not just the city. "Mumbai" gives Job Hai too broad a radius. "Andheri" or "Thane" triggers the hyperlocal matching correctly. Update it if you move.

Profile tips for Job Hai

Complete the video introduction. Job Hai lets candidates record a short video introduction. Fewer than 10% of candidates do it. Recruiters filling field roles often shortlist candidates with video profiles over identical text profiles. It removes a phone screen and shows the candidate is willing to make the effort.

Set availability accurately. Recruiters for entry-level roles filter aggressively on "immediate joiner." If you are available now, mark it. If you have a 30-day notice, mark that, but understand that many roles will be filled before your availability date.

Set shift preference. Many roles on Job Hai are shift-based. Without a shift preference selected, you do not appear in shift-filtered searches. Select all shifts you are actually open to.

Keep your profile active. Log in every 2-3 days and update something. Job Hai's matching favours recently active profiles, same as Naukri.

WorkIndia: faster hiring, verified candidates

WorkIndia targets the same blue and grey-collar segment as Job Hai but with a different emphasis. The platform leans harder on candidate verification and speed.

Many hires on WorkIndia happen within 24-48 hours of applying. Employers using WorkIndia are often hiring for urgent requirements: a retail chain opening a new outlet, a delivery company scaling up for peak season. Speed matters more here than on any other platform.

What WorkIndia prioritises

Verified phone number. WorkIndia requires a verified phone number. Candidates without verification do not appear as prominently in employer searches. This is mandatory. Verify on day one.

Location accuracy. Like Job Hai, matching is hyperlocal. But WorkIndia's employer-side verification tools mean employers can see location accuracy signals. A candidate whose registered location matches their actual location gets prioritised over one who listed a location across the city.

Immediate availability tag. If you are available to join immediately, mark it. WorkIndia's employer base is hiring urgently. The "immediate joiner" tag is the single most visible signal on the platform.

Tip

WorkIndia is particularly strong for: driver roles, delivery executives, housekeeping and caretaker positions, retail counter staff, and security personnel. If your target is any of these, set up WorkIndia before Job Hai. The employer base is more active for these specific categories.

Who should use these platforms

Use Job Hai and WorkIndia if:

  • Your target role is in delivery, retail, security, hospitality, or entry-level field ops
  • You are in a Tier 2 or Tier 3 city where Naukri's recruiter coverage is thin
  • You need to find work quickly. The hiring cycle is days, not weeks
  • You do not have a formal resume (these platforms are designed for that)

Skip them if your target is IT, management, or office-based professional roles. Those listings are not here.

Note

Apna is another platform worth mentioning in this space. It overlaps with Job Hai and WorkIndia for similar role categories, particularly in the Delhi NCR market. If you are running Job Hai and WorkIndia, adding Apna takes 15 minutes and covers recruiters who post exclusively there.

The candidates who get hired fastest on Job Hai and WorkIndia are not the ones with the best profiles. They are the ones who respond within the hour when an employer reaches out, have verified contact details, and are close to where the job is.

Set location accurately, verify your number, mark your availability, and respond fast. Everything else is secondary.
