Common questions

How is the JD match score calculated?

Required keyword coverage accounts for 75% of the score; preferred keyword coverage accounts for 25%. If no preferred terms are detected, required coverage alone determines the score. A score of 80+ means most required terms are present; below 60 means significant gaps.

Is getting a JD match score free?

Yes. Paste any job description and upload your resume. No account, no sign-in, no payment. You get a keyword coverage score, matched and missing terms, and tailoring tips instantly.

What is a good JD match score?

80 or above indicates strong keyword coverage. 60 to 79 is partial. Check which required terms are missing. Below 60 suggests the role needs significant tailoring or may not be the right fit given your current resume content.

How is this different from Jobscan or Resume Worded?

The free checker uses pattern-based keyword matching. ResumeGrade Pro adds semantic matching (synonyms and close variants), section-level gap analysis, and AI-written tailoring edits inside the app.
